Definitely can't return it after working on it or they would say you altered it so that's out of the question but if it were me, I would make 'er usable again & just take it as a loss but still have a good razor to shave with.
I agree with B52. It would be a shorty but will end up being around a 7/8. If anything, make it such a nice piece when done so it will turn out a really nice razor. Also if you were to put a smile on it like outback said, it may put a smile on your face! :shrug:

That's the ones, exactly! Thing was like new in a display case for a while. Took it out to clean and the pivot had crystallized and was crumbling. Got the blade a little bit, not too bad. I am in hopes my buddy still has the inlay.

Finally! No more classes this year! Now I can spare some time to mess with razors again!
Made a second attempt repairing turtle scales. This time for a Swedish frameback by Erik Anton Berg. The problem was the same, cracked transversely at pivot pin.
This time, instead to glue a transparent plastic sheet inside all scale long as I did with the Rodgers, I had some meat more, so I decided to dig a recess inside the broken scale and install a metal insert to stabilize, sparing the power of the scales to add some color to the flexcoat resin.
