Mine is too.
It'll clean back up with very little effort. Done it to mine with the dremmel and maas or flitz. It needs it again.

Not that it matters, I buff the pins anyhow.
I'm thinking maybe with the actual inlay, there may be a way to figure out how to use my ole engraving machine to make the receiving relief perfectly... Mind is working on a few idear's.
And what ink to use to try to make honey horn into mock tortoise.. :hmmm:
One of the GE's with what's left of the original gold and a pitted up Special 1 as I'm taking them apart.

Oh man, now is the time...I bid on a razor for the scales! Got it at a fair price...why did I bid on it? 3 reasons, one, I really liked the faux tortoise, two, I thought the shape was cool and third, the far out reason...I was pretty sure this might fit a nice little blade I had. Guess what, it fits! The madman from Philly said that almost never happens. I'll be losing some truly awesome scales (not original) on my little wedge but, possibly a razor will be reborn with these...oh I almost forgot reason 4: The crazy ass inlay.

Fingers crossed...I know the wedge blade matches the little hollow grind of the Möck...the width might be an issue.
Those scales are similar to the Nowill Razor Tom lent me!
Very cool shape! Hope it's a match Bill

Thanks for the tip on the acrylic faux Tom. Gonna start hunting.
If it is a MOOK, it is a Helji. Neat sales, but tortoise celluloid is always suspect. I wonder if it is something which has been rescaled? Never saw a Swedish razor in scales like that. Seem German? Does the blade show signs of lots of sanding/grinding? Is there warpage? If all is well, you have some lovely scales, no doubt! ;)
Scales like that don't generally lend themselves to wedges.
I can see a nice Japanese wedge in them, however.....
