Thanked: 4827I'm digging it, especially the notched wedge end.

Thanked: 4206Thanks gents..
A shot of the first one I did and Phrank's big brother.
I made his thinner than the first one, and spent more time polishing he rear side before bonding it up. Really made a difference in sparkle.

Great work those are both fantastic, the barber notch is awesome in the scales.

Thanked: 4206The barber notch set, second I made out of this material, shines better I believe due to the more time I spent polishing the rear side prior to bonding.
Went against what I know for best chemical adhesion to polish both the brass, and the scale to 2400grit before bonding. But if I left the mating surfaces rough, the reflectiveness would have been more muted I believe.
Used marine grade 24 hr 2 part clear epoxy to bond the materials together prior to all final finish work. The pins 'should' ensure that nothing delaminates with time. This epoxy is still keeping the bottom end on my old merc 65 water free and running in the lakes up here after cracking it open on a rock 15 years ago. So the stuff should hold up.
Happy Tuesday gents.
