Whew! Well, that did not work. Seems Babur is providing stainless pins with those bigger sized collars. I just KNEW something was wrong as I took the side-cutters to it! :banghead:
His pins on the smaller ones are indeed nickel and brass, so I suppose it was hard to get that in a bit larger size?
Anyway, I always use nickel silver or brass rod with them.
As I got going, the pins seized in the collars and I was wailing away to get anything going. As it got tight, I opened the razor and it creaked! The pins, collars, spacers were all moving! . Crazy!
I went out and dremeled one collar off and got the mess apart, no damage! :D
At this point, I went with the smaller ones, sized them, CA'd my spacers back down and used silver rod. The holes were a bit oversized, but I do it all the time on lined pearl, so why not here? As things tighten up, checking the blade closure and tapping here and there to align, and getting it tight. Still have the bigs n littles except the littles are a tiny bit smaller.
Should have done this in the first place. My intuition on those pins was right!
Anyhoo, all together. Need to polish the pins, hone it up. Done for the day!

Tom, that looks fantastic brother! I love it. Job well done!!!! I'm glad it all worked out. :chapeau
I'm going to remember that trick with the scales for future use!
Nice job. I know the end cap/wedge came with the scale but I think it is really snazzy. I knew you could do it!
Thanks! Yeah, that was one reason I got sold some busted scales, Shaun! The old scales went through the wringer and all turned out well. Always wanted some vintage stag scales, but could only afford some which needed some help! :rofl2:
It should be a nice shaver, the blade is 6/8 and seems likely.
Here's your beer, Tom.
I kept it on ice for ya.
You deserve it, for a job well done. CHEERS!!

Thanks, outback! That's a nice one! :tu
Fun to dig in the pile of junk.
Sorta like falling in a cesspool and coming up with golden earrings!
