I suppose I am getting way ahead of myself, but I have begun to think silver pins and collars on mine due to the silver inlaid circles on the front scale. Laid out some Ebay finds. I think the ones on the bottom would look more proper. The domes look a bit much, I think?

What scales will yours have, Outback?
If you could make a domed large washer, that would fit the smooth circle inlays, IMO.
The stacked domes are good for the style, but the inlays got me thinking something to compliment them.

Got mine back together. Yeah!
Accepting that the colour match didn't go as well as I hoped on the epoxy repair, I am still pretty happy to have been able to save the scales as well as the blade.
The 'feathering in' went very well and I will try to save more scales going forward.
I also decided to forego a highly polished blade for the sake of the etchings. The damage was just too deep to erase completely. I'd prefer to know where it came from than pretend it's new.:rock:

Now to try and restore the edge!!! Probably not tonight though. The vicious rumour, (started by me) is true. Bobcageon bound next week!! Google it. Closest to heaven and local made ice cream!!

The domes pictured outshine the inlays, which I think are pewter. Think I will go with the stamped stack ones.
Seems to look more authentic, anyway. Still have work to do smoothing the scales a bit. I found a few wedge candidates, so I may do some mock-ups soon to see if it closes center. Gonna save the Neetsfoot for right before pinning in case things are wonkey.
So, when is the flight to the cottage? I suppose clearing the bench means you will get done with your razor?

I leave next weekend, Sunday probably to go opposite traffic and get a few things done at home. Then just 5 or 6 days away. It's enough. ;)
The collars are reproductions from a fine young man on ebay. Have his card somewhere and will post it up. He makes these and sells horn among other things.
First set I tried to use actually and I like em.
Won't stack this restore up against some drop dead beautiful saves I've seen, Tom's in this same thread being one. But I'm happy to make this razor shaveable again and to say I have one in my kit.

I got these collars from an ebay seller as well. They are a bit smaller than FBU collars, yet really nice ones.
Anyway, the pressure is off, so I will chug along and post as I accomplish something!
I hope the trip is enjoyable and safe. Looking forward to that SOTD!
