Pound some brass grommets through the holes in the leather. Very nice work.

That's great advice. I don't have a lot of leather working tools - is there some easy way to do that?

You can bevel the edges with a sharp Block or Finish plane, with the leather laid flat, raise the leather to get the angle you want, test on some scraps. Or buy a beveler, they are not that expensive.

Nice work. How thick is the leather? Looked hefty...

Make one out of a 6" nail. Easy if you have some tools.

I'm not sure what you mean MisterMoo. You mean some of those raised brass washer like this?

Nice kit aalbina. Thick strip of skin that does look very nice. Neat idea on the brass as well.
Adding some brass leather grommets, as suggested by MrMoo would add a nice level of finish to an already attractive strop.
    Cheers.

Here is a very simple loom/paddle strop design, that I have been wanting to make for some time.

I saw one once, where they used, loose wedges that could be tapped outward to tension the strop.

Mostly I use hanging and paddle strops on MDF, I have made a bunch from 5 gallon paint stir sticks for testing paste with leather and craft foam.

Foam works very well with paste.
