James barlow & Sons, Before & After
Here's a project I've been working on. The blade had deep scratches and rust spots. I only removed what I thought
was safe considering my skill level. The scales are acrylic, and the spacer is made out of an old guitar pickguard.
The original scales were real tortoise and I couldn't save them (too bad). They were in much worse shape than the
photos show. Thanks to Roy (cudarunner ) for helping me learn these skills.

That's looking really nice! Those big Barlows aren't that easy to come by and I'm happy to see this one brought back into service so nicely. Enjoy it proudly!

Beautiful job, like the scales on yours quite a lot.

Using the pick guard for a spacer is a really cool idea!

I like that the new scales have a same/similiar shape to the old ones. Great restore.
