    Sorry, I must strongly suggest that you disregard this suggestion. The scales are clearly warped, and re-drilling them will only ensure that they remain warped. Several of the most experienced restorers on this forum have recommended unpinning, straightening the scales, and then carefully repinning to ensure proper alignment and stability. Good luck!

    Like I said, I was guessing. Never having done this stuff I didn't want anyone to think to go on what I had to say alone. It was just what I was seeing. Hope you get it all corrected soon. And dont listen to a newbee!

    Guys, I ended up using hot water and applying some pressure. Great result in less than two minutes.
    Fixing the warped scales might be the long term plan, but for now, I am happy with the result.
