I too have found it easier to peen one side, before installation.

I have peened the small washers before.
The collars in the above pic, were made by doming flat washers with a dappling block.

I've even used the dappling block to restore the shape of original collars.

Quick question.
I have only actually filed one pin because I have only pinned twice and the first time was, well you know!
Anyway I used a little keyhole file set and it was a bit tricky so I'm getting a proper file ( I can't find mine), it will be about 6" I think but do I want coarse, medium or fine to file those pins?- - Steve
