This was so handy today, I needed to re-stock on Micro's and was at work With this thread here, I didn't even have to think about of the sizes.... Alex was thoughtful enough to even include that info right here in the thread....

I haven't read every post here so forgive me if I am redundantly asking a question again. I have used cutlers rivets when re-handling knives. A cutlers rivet is a male and female pair that have identical heads and establish a press fit when assembled from either side of the knife handle. I have also seen screws that have the same head but one is a female, sort of a threaded sleeve with a slotted head that matches the male screw. Do we know of a source for stainless or nickel silver devices like these in 0-80 or smaller?

I have looked for an appropriate size of the screws you described for a long time now and can't find it small enough. Some guys are trying to explore different options and maybe they will report if they find anything.

Is there a stainless equivilant to the adjustable set up? This set up seems to be brass and I can't seem to find the stainless equvilant and am wondering if the same things exist or if there's a reason it's only brass?

    Thanks,
    Matt

It appears that microfasteners now have the nut drivers listed on their website.
At least I hope it's the right one because I ordered 2 of them last night.

they don't make stainless in the right size for this, at least not anywhere I know to look.

Availability aside.. Is stainless ok? I've been sticking with brass but I'm just curious, are there metals to avoid? (copper is a given).

I know it's an old thread - but I wanted to post an example of filling the pin hole with epoxy to get a tight fit.
This is what I did on my favorite razor - the hole was an oval, so epoxy was the best answer .

Did you just fill it entirely then drill a new hole? How has the epoxy held up with use? Thanks!

Yes - just filled it and drilled a 1/16" hole. It's JB weld which is overkill for this application. High strength/wear resistance aren't really that important here. Pretty much any epoxy will hold up well for this.
