What was the techniqye, method...how did you sand it???
    What grits?
I JUST started to sand a keeper with good scales...starting with 150 wet dry sponge
The sanding was done as in Bruno's write up, used some oil on the blade during sanding, stopped at 2000, which was the finest I could find locally.

I've been thinking about using some white jewelers rouge and/or diamond paste on a felt wheel the next time as a final polish step, not sure if it would work though.

There is something really calming about handsanding a blade, as strange as it may seam, so I guess I'll be down this road again

    Bjorn:
Great job on the restore..... That's the good news...
The bad news is if you think RAD was bad, becoming a "Rabid Restorer" is much, much, worse...

But the satisfaction of bringing a rusted, broken piece of junk, back to being a sharp, gleaming, working tool again, is really worth the effort

PS: I forget more than half the before pics too LOL

Thanks, Rabid Restorer, hmm, I have a feeling I know what you are talking about

I'll just have to brush up some of my woodworking skills, and get to work.
Your absolutely right about bringing something back to working condition again, it's a fantastic feeling.
