    I wish.

Restoration will not make you rich. (Paraphrased from Bill's Restoration CD.)

It was a small exaggeration more to accent your skill than the realities of the market. It's too bad as your work is truly superb.

Praise accepted and appreciated. Thank you.

Can I still wish for getting rich?

No offense to Bill because he does fine work, but I think I'd rather have a seven day set of Vlad's restorations (and the matching box, of course, heh).

I'd have to take out a second mortgage to pay him what it'd be worth though.

I appreciate the sentiment Gary but I would not want to work on a 7 day set just yet. That would take me over a month of restoring just the blades.

For now I am going to stick to one or two razor sets. Just to make sure I get a break from sanding.

Bill's works is still something I am aiming for. I think I will get there and probably sooner than later, but I am not there yet. Not being humble just an honest evaluation of our relative abilities. Bill is still the Master of the art with more than a decade of experience. And there is no substitute for experience.

Now, if you do go for Bill's 7 day set just ask for a box made by me. I am sure it can be arranged.

If you liked previous boxes, the next batch I made from new woods will be more eye candy: African Mahogany, Mayan Rosewood, Kingwood, Bloodwood.

I have a few boxes for my restorations in the oven right now. Have the Ebony and Yellowheart box for the DD Goldedge that is on its way to me. The box looks awesome!

Another is an Ebony and Bloodwood box with a brass frame inlay. This one is for a Bloodwood scaled W&B that is coming up. The box is almost done and I am feeling peachy about the results. The brass frame on a black and dark red background makes the box look rich.

No plans for a 7 day set, just 7-day set boxes.

No, if I got a seven day set of Bill's stuff (I mean have you guys SEEN that oosik one he did?) I'd be terrified to put them to a hone. They'd go on a shelf somewhere or in a display box.

I think your work is much more approachable to me, it's something I can appreciate (like Bill's) but unlike Bill's it's something I think I'd actually *use* day to day instead of being just too damned scared to take it out of the box and to be honest, I think artwork like the both of you do deserves to be used not just looked at.

Not meaning to slight either of you, and not saying your work isn't phenomenal either
