Your finger looks much worse!
Industry hazards I'm afraid. Nice work on the steel.

Thanked: 0Good catch. I work in a job that I need fingernails as a tool (as weird as that sounds) I cut every other weekend (that was a day early) thanks for all the praise on the blade it took about 4 hours. Now I'm on to my scales... Wood just got here expect pics soon!

Keep up the good work. I have two oxford blades sitting in oil, waiting for scales. I'm using bubinga on the first one.

Thanked: 0Here are the scales done.
I can be a bit of a perfectionist that's why i made the scales on this four times because of small problem I just didn't like. I finished up the master set got it all the way finished with CA, Thank you gssixgun for the thread:
CA-Super Glue, Finishing Hints and Tips
I "cut" them and it was so cool!
I then went to pin the thing and found way to many problems! I put holes in the scales I shouldn't have, The spacer didn't fit to well after the CA, and the razor doesn't center at all when its closed it does fine until its all the way closed the hooks all the way to the right resting on the inside of the scales, and that's after I had to use a bit more of a push from another Microfastners nut next to the washer on the inside.
What I did learn was a whole lot of patience and what not to do next time, tho I will have to work up the motivation to do it again, so now I'm putting the scales as a priority for antique purchases.
All in all its done I will send it out to get honed (maybe Lynn, so I can get an opinion on why its not centering.) But thanks for looking.
The Materials: the wood is olive wood from Bethlehem and the spacer is holly, brass inlays and brass pinning all the way around.Last edited by Skelp; 07-23-2011 at 11:24 PM.
