This is what my stupidity did to this beautiful blade.
Dangit, I was so happy with the way it was cleaning up. Such an idiot...
Is it worth anything now??

I have seen and done worse. You will lose some of it but it looks like it can be saved.Last edited by Str8Shooter; 07-08-2011 at 04:06 AM.

Sorry to hear that man! Im sure you will get it good again
I'm still a noob with all this and will be for a long time still, but i have been using Dremels for a long time and I noticed that you use the sanding bands and you have a stone there...
I'm definitely 'Not' an expert with straight razor restoration although wouldn't these be better for restoration?
512E EZ Lock Finishing Abrasive Buffs 320 Grit (2 Pack)
and
511E EZ Lock Finishing Abrasive Buffs - 180 & 280 grit (2 Pack)
They will flex and bend to the blades shape, Even though they said that they are finishing abrasive buffs, the 180 and the 280 will still take a lot of metal away and they last for a long time.
Also because they use the EZ locking system, if they do catch on something there is a fair chance they will just fall off rather then just grip (i have that happen a few times throughout my dremeling day)
EZ Locking System
Also when i dremel anything that has an edge i push the edge into a towel or cloth that pulled tight so the dremel cant quite reach the bevel\edge (or what ever I'm sanding\polishing at the time) and obviously keep the dremel spinning towards the edge not against it.. Anyway like i said i am a noob..
I hope you can fix it! i would cry if that ever happens to me!

Oh that's a crying shame, I think you should console yourself by getting some more Razors.

I wasn't using the dremel with the sanding bits. I just used these to prop the blade up. About the only thing I use the dremel on is to do detail work on scales. Occasionally I will use it with MASS on the blade if it doesn't need heavy work. I'm not sure if i would use the abrasive buffs. I would rather stay with my bigger 6" buffing wheel's.

Mike, really sorry about your Puma mate. Looks like a beauty too. I often wish I had a dremel, until I see something like this. Let us know how the repair goes mate.
