New set of custom scales for my W&B For Barber's Only
I finally got a W&B For Barber's Only from the Bay without breaking my bank.
I made a set of custom scales for it from walnut, maple, cherry, and purple heart.
Here's a picture of the scales, I will post a picture of the finished razor after assembly.
I am still waiting for the scales to dry.
Sorry for the blurry photos, the finished razor pics will be better.

Dude there's an optical illusion or something... My wife said it looks as big as the chair. She was wondering if it was a rifle stock... Looks good though!!

Nice look. Excellent use of the different timbers. How are the timbers joined? Are they just butted together or do they have a common core?

I layered the wood like a sandwich and used gorrilla glue and high clamping pressure.
It looked like a big piece of crap after initial gluing with bleed out and everything but a couple passes through the planer and the band saw and it was beautiful. I still have enogh of the stockto make another set of scales.
In answer to one of the other questions they are 6 1/4" long. Here's a couple more pics with it inside drying now.

Nice, I went through Valdosta on the way to FLorida this past summer, neat place. Be sure to show us the end result with the blade in place, just curious because I too have a 'For Barbers Use' W&B, but it's just a 7/8ths.
