That's all very personal. Many people love the high mirror shine and others don't. However there is a huge difference between an nice subtle perfectly mirror or high shine restored razor as opposed to what I see a lot, the over buffed, over mirrored look where someone just went overboard with his rouges. Makes for a fake look and it streaks the engraving. That's usually a dead giveaway.

As I said (buffed to the max) as you said (near mirror) JMO

Micro mesh pads are available from Rockler, and any penmaking supplier.

There is my problem with your statement, your opinion is your opinion, and I cannot argue that part nor would I, but that statement is simply not a fact...

See the difference, I have the razors that were made that way now if you are saying that it is only bad to buff baldes beyond what they were originally, that is a different statement, and could have been worded differently

    JMHO too of course

Depending on how many razor you plan on doing Tyler??? a buffer is usually more cash smart.. BUT very dangerous to you and the razors

You can seriously destroy razors very quickly wth a buffer but you can also get a really nice finish

    +1

You can also see it in the rounding of what were once sharp-ish lines, like the edges formed between areas of grinding. Shoulders become less defined and edges get blurred. Just looks cheap, in my opinion.
