Thanked: 2027Looks great.If I could find a source of pure nitric acid I would do a true rust blue,would take a couple weeks to do but I think it would look great.
I think Wacker used some sort of Plating process,or maybe plasma coating,dunno.

Thanked: 2027I almost think you would have to do it to a new,un-honed blade with no set bevel.
It is a controlled rust proceedure and the nitric would take out even a semi-finished edge in a heartbeat.
Have done shotgun barrels in the past,is an odious amt. of very messy work (not to mention somewhat dangerous).
