Thanked: 0Can this WB blade be used?
I recently found this wade and butcher blade. It has a crack on the blade. Questions:
1. is it worth putting new scalse on, and making shave ready?
2. Would I have to use special care when using this? I can imagine that the crack will attract water and corosion will propogate from there.

Yes, it can be saved with a little time and care. I had a very similar crack in a W&B and ground it out carefully and slowly with a Dremel.

Thanked: 993Yes. Take a look here, I just finished this project: http://straightrazorpalace.com/custo...ustom-fun.html
The think about the crack isn't that it may attract water, it's more that its going to rip off your face first.

Thanked: 0Alright! thanks for the input guys. I feel better about grinding on it. I really like what you did Maxi. You turned it into a really cool fixed Blade.
Ill get better at posting on the right thread too. Sorry.Last edited by razordude; 05-10-2012 at 06:08 PM.

Thanked: 0I dont know if I have the skill to do that so I may outsource it to someone I have sent a couple of razors to before. I want him to put some custom scales on it to. Thinking Carbon fiber. Yea!
