o yeah thats one blue duck. and i kinda like it. I agree, you should leave them. Trying anything on them has a good probability of destroying the scales, might as well play it safe since it doesnt look bad as is.

If you hand't said you had stained the scales I would have just assumed that was the original color.

Yea, I thought this was going to look pretty bad by the descriptions. It looks real cool I think. It's like an ice blue - it's awesome looking!!! The Blue Duck lives!

If it didn't simply wipe off, then it's probably not coming off without some sort of destruction, be it sanding or solvent in nature (more on this in a few). Personally, I think the blue is pretty awesome.

The only thing I can think of is to take a look at the MSDS of Barbicide (conveniently linked for your viewing pleasure): http://www.king-research.com/pdf/msd...icide_MSDS.pdf and give the solvent they use in it a shot. It looks like they dissolve some Dimethyl benzyl ammonium chloride and some Sodium nitrite in Isopropyl alcohol. My suggestion, if you want a last resort, is to use rubbing alcohol (isopropanol) to try to get the blue out. Maybe even mix some up with water in a 1:1 ratio and let it soak for a few seconds. If you do it in a clear container you should be able to hold it up the the light and see the dye leaching out (if it is going to).

Please note, I am not providing my professional opinion with any sort of warranty, responsibility, or money-back-guarantee, so proceed at your own risk.

I think it looks sweet, and maybe don't push your luck or you may end up with melted duck
