    Default Ivory Repair?

As some of you may know, a recent catastrophe has brought a chip to the end of one of my scales. While it didnt snap at the pivot, it is close to it.

What sort of repair might work best for such thin and delicate material? It may be ivory, it may be whalebone.

Would this be better served being bound to a brass liner at this point?

Thoughts and opinions would be greatly appreciated.

    Cool

This is a lined set of old Ivory I did some time back, the old set of scales wasn't actually cracked all the way through but there were stress cracks forming... I used the thin Blue Micarta sheet from Masecraft because of flexibility, weight and the ease with which it attached with Epoxy..
Using a metal liner adds quite a few issues to your build ..

If I would add a liner I would go with something that could have been used at the time, brass o silver could be nice.
I do think you can get away with just superglueing it, 2 very small metal pins would make it stronger yet.
    Are any pieces missing?

If that blade is to be restored it will obviousley need to be un-pinned,might wait and see how the unpinning go's.If just a display pce,Super glue it and be done with it.

What's the length look like, meaning, can the wedge be tossed, slide the blade down, reshape & redrill at the pivot end.
