Thanked: 1184Just thinking...but if you made leather lace loops at the bottom and put the tang in, like those that hold bullets in a gun belt only thinner. Then at the top a thin velcro strap or something stretchy. I think canvas would be the best all around material for the wrap. Satin, velvet or felt inside.
Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

Thanked: 2209For the exterior shell I am going to research felt ( real & synthetic) and wool or just use a synthetic that breathes. I have over 800 razors worth well over $16K so I need to pay attention to my investment.
I will be using leather type material for the barber hone cases/pouches.Randolph Tuttle, a SRP Mentor for residents of Minnesota & western Wisconsin

Making a roll-up for razors....
They are all still original and I have never had to repair any of the elastic parts. They are still snug.
I've had those back in Belgium for a long time. When I moved they nicely followed me :-). They've been stored in South Pasadena and Las Vegas the past 10 years.

Thanked: 2209I found a web page that is most informative. It is about how the various materials compare for wicking action. Here is a link......
Underwear (Base Layer): How to Choose
Based on this I would use polyester as an internal material, wool or felt next and leather as an outside material since it the leather is non-porous due to wax, oil or processing it will not allow much moisture inside (wicking action works both ways). So if my razors are oiled when dry then promptly put away they should be good for a year or two. But for daily use I would use a poly liner and a wool/felt exterior.
Guys, thanks for the help & ideas .Last edited by randydance062449; 01-28-2013 at 02:20 AM.

I have been considering buying of these for travelling to our meets, does anyone use this model? The ebay add says it will hold 60 pocket knives, so potentially 40 razors but I would like to be sure before I buy!
Randy, a member here has a plastic case designed for large art markers to store his razors, you might need 16 of them but they sure are nice! Here is an example, not sure if its the exact one....
