I will get better pics, and a shot of the "not really a grinder" setup

I'm a "make do with what you got" kind of guy.
I saw the smile, the blade looks good hope it shaves just as well.

What IS that madness you ask? well, its a 3 jaw chuck, with a jacobs chuck stuck in it to give it some distance between the head and the work. In the Jacobs is a grindwheel adaptor. Not really designed for stones, more for the flap wheels of an angle grinder, but at the low rpms its spinning, I figure its safe enough.

Oh, and I doube checked. Its a 3inch pully on the motor, and the grinding was done on the first rung, which is close to 6 inches. Grindstone itself about 5.5

Nope! If you go slow enough, and use a feather touch, its not so bad. I keep a finger on the back, if I feel it getting warm, I stop and quench. Its also about 4o degree down in the basement, so that probably helps!

Water? We don't need no stinking water! Man! I have an old Southbend. The fact that an infinitely variable chucked motor at my disposal, has been limited. Gonna have to drag up a stool! Thanks!

    Beer then?

No seriously, I would use some coolant, local overheating is fast and steel conducts heat quite bad.

As soon as you want to come on over for a visit, and set up some sort of water recirculating system, be my guest!
