Thanks for the explanation Stefan and for the video presentation. I didn't realize that nagura use differed from using slurry stones of the same composition as the base stone or a diamond plate to generate abrasive from the base stone. Now I begin to understand the attraction to using the honorable nagura on venerable Nakayama ....or whatever.

    Question:

I don't think you mentioned it in the video, but would you use the Koma nagura as part of the progression after Mejiro and before tomonagura OR would you use it in place of Mejiro?

Koma certainly can be used, whether after Mejiro or instead depends on personal preference just try and see what you like best.

    Hi,

Would you use chrom ox, or diamond spray, or similar after the passes on water (as it seems like you did after the tomonagura, but I could be mistaken), or is it shave ready as it is?

    Thanks,

    Thanks,
After the tomonagura I went to water finish only.

Great job , now I have another reason (and no more excuses) to try out the three nagura I got from Maksim with my Oozuko.

Do you think Atoma plates could fit in the progression either after the Tomonagura or perhaps even instead of it??

Atoma is not good for honing razors, I personally use mine only for lapping.

I think he meant for raising slurry, not honing directly on the Atoma. Do you have any experience with using the Atoma to raise slurry?

I used to use it a lot but recently I've been using tomonaguras exclusively.
