Thanked: 49Definitely. Saw a Fatboy it the antique store tonight. I will have to go back and check to make sure it wasn't bottom dial.

Thanked: 49I'm sure. And I'm sure the one I saw was a top dial anyway. Still had a $175 price tag on it. I guess that is pretty standard.

Thanked: 480Apparently, my version of "pretty standard pricing" and other peoples are way out of sync. If its not New In Box, why on earth would anybody pay 175 for a Fatboy? Rediculoyus!
Yard sale them for 20 tops! got my last for 35 (Excellent in box) and a slim for 10.

Thanked: 49Okay, maybe I should have said in good condition in the original case it isn't uncommon to see them go for that on eBay. But that is really a mouthful. Point taken I will definitely be hitting some yard sales this summer.

3 years ago I bought a gold plated top dial fatboy at a major antique centre in Brisbane, Australia, for $12 - with the plastic case. I thought I was laying out quite a few bucks for some old DE - I researched it afterwards and grinned. OK, I wasn't quite that naive but I really didn't know that they were worth serious money until I started to check out the auctions.

A -- the market sets the price on eBay
B -- this seller has a 100% seller rating, doesn't look like they've given anyone any problems
C -- nobody forced the buyer to buy an unaffordable, large deductible, taxpayer-subsidized Fatboy they didn't want.Don't get hung up on hanging hairs.
