I have about given up on eBay . . . bought my Wostie from a member here. Was interested and noticed the razor had been "sitting" a while. Made an offer, received a counter, made a second offer, and the deal was done. I will be picking it up at the Post Office today. No muss, no fuss, and no ridiculous attitudes to deal with. It is fun to deal with adults, rather than children.

Now and then I make an offer on an item that interests me. For certain, my offers are usually on the low side. But I try not to be insultingly low. I'm ok with being turned down, and don't for the life of me get how insulting a seller might get them to reconsider my offer. I WOULD like however, if they would make a counter offer if I am close, but not close enough. I have yet to receive a counter on ebay.

I always provide one if the offer is not just someone being daft. The problem is a lot of guys think pieces on there were acquired for damn near nothing, or you are desperate for funds, or you don't like it and think you are desperate to unload. Sometimes I have to ask a lot of cash for a blade or a hone because it cost me a lot and for it to be worth moving, I have to be close to what I put into it or maybe higher if I am lucky, or else it is a waste... Most of the cash I spend to support my hobby is made by moving other pieces when necessary to eat the cash of buying something I value more, so I need fair yield. Other times, like when I get relatively clean hum drum blades for cheap, I hone them and put really really fair prices on them so a guy starting out will get a nice blade honed on proper stones to a real state of shave readiness. Nobody has ever given me a hard time on those, thankfully. Probably because most ebay blades are like butter and steak knives..

But I swear, I've gotten offers on high value pieces for $1 with the attached message "LOL! you will never sell that for what you are asking, this is my final offer, take it or leave it! LOL" Yes, genius types lol... They just get put on the blocked bidder list... Simple. They do me a favor.
