Thread: Canada Post screwed up!!!!

Unfortunately, all carriers have their problems. Tracking numbers or not. Signatures or not. Not a 100% foolproof system. There are people out there who will flat out lie to get something for free. And if eBay was to question me on that.... I'd say look at my feedback....... 100% positive and never have I left negative feedback or complain about not receiving something.
Is it over there or over yonder?

OMG....trying to actually try and call eBay Canada..... IMPOSSIBLE!
It's a cyber loop more or less. I ended up doing "item not received".
Seller has until Oct 30th to reply or get the ball rolling with eBay and USPS.
This makes me sick to stomach. I miss the days of actually calling and talking to a customer service agent.
Everything now is online BS or automated phone calls. Feels so cold and numbing.
And it only gets better, eh?Is it over there or over yonder?

Well the seller replied to me.
They said they will contact Pitney Bowes (eBay global shipper) tomorrow and check into it. Asked for me to do the same. Gave me a phone number to call.
Does this sound right? The seller seems to be taking this pretty well. (crossing fingers my razor shows up)Is it over there or over yonder?

Me too.
Seller messaged me back this morning:
Here are some messages thus far:
From seller: did some checking on the internet, PITNEY BOWES is the carrier for Ebay Global Shipping. Their number is 1-888-727-0781 customer service. Also, when they deliver an package, they have to get a signature. So, there should be a signature for who received the package. I will call today when they open and you should call also. Also, from what I read, once the item/package arrives at their distribution center, which this item has, it is no longer the sellers responsibility. If I find out more tomorrow, I will let you know. Again, there should be somebodies signature for this item when it was delivered.
From me: Hello!
I can call them tomorrow, but the postage companies are going to want you (the shipper) to start the claim/ complaint. I work for a courier company, I know the drill on this far too often. See what they tell you. I gave the Canada Post tracking number too. PB should contact USPS and follow the trail. These packages from Pitney Bowes or eBay global shipping have never came to me as signature required. The mail guys just drop them off. Might be something else to tell them about. You get the ball rolling on your end and please keep me posted. I am hoping it does show up some time this week. I will keep you posted as well. I have talked to other people around and online and they have had some of the same things happen to them. Either as a buyer or seller. This won't be the first time or the last time something like this situation happens. First for me.
Take care!
From Seller: I talked to my post office, the item got delivered to Erlanger, Kentucky. That is where the seller ships too. Thats all the post office can do. They dont care this is a distributation center. They tell me, the package wss delivered to destination.
From Seller: just talked to pitney bowes, it was delivered on Oct. 20, 2015 to a community locker/post office. they gave me a Canada Post tracking # XXXXXXXXXX

I would open a claim in the resolution center to keep it open. If you didn't receive the item, and no signature was required or received, I would think the onus is on the seller to refund.
You've got lot's of paperwork, open the claim and make sure you insert the information you have. It's just good practice to open a claim - if it resolves you can close it. I always open a claim whenever something goes past it's due delivery date, it usually resolves, but going past the claim date removes your ability to do so.
You paid for an item and didn't receive it - there's no way you can be responsible for an item not getting to you.

I almost had this happen this weekend with USPS.
I sent my Wolfman DE to have some engraving done.
It only had to go Dallas to Abilene 300ish miles up the rode. It didn't make it on delivery day.
It went From Dallas to Oklahoma City and sat a few days , the OKC to Lubbuck for a few days then from Lubbuck to Abilene. It's a dog eat dog world and I have on milk bone underwear.

I opened a dispute claim through eBay. Such an automated system it's stupid! You travel in loops for the most part and no phone number to contact anyone. Canada Post site is almost as bad! I hope no one has to go through this BS! I want my RAZOR not a refund. But if no razor, then a refund is warranted. Wish I could be home when that mail carrier was out delivering at my community mailbox. I'd have words with them.
I do hope the razor shows up, because I will make sure that carrier is written up and warned to pay attention to their job at hand. Not rocket science delivering the mail to mail boxes. Pat attention to the address, put it in the correct slot.
The seller says that package should have been signature required...... No one signed for it. Wonder if that changes when it passes over the border? Is it over there or over yonder?

My impression is that once the package is delivered to the distribution center ebay is on the hook, not the seller. The issue being the community mailbox, and whether ebay will use the fact that tracking says it was delivered to deny responsibility. You may have some leverage because no sig was requested. Somebody dropped the ball on that.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

That makes sense too me too in that the seller appears to have done his part in good faith. So the liability surely must fall either with Pitney Bowes, EBay, or Canada Post. Since they delivered it to a phantom, I'd like to think CanPost should take the rap on this one.
It's such a shame that this happened - I hope it gets resolved soon with a belated delivery!
It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.
