Cheetah, it appears the scales are replacements. Would you want to pay that much for a non original Sheffield just because the blade is 'approximately' 1&1/8" ? Another one will be along before too long. They made a lot of 'em.

It's been maybe 2 years or so ago but i say one wedge that had been re-conditioned go for just under 1200 smackers. I don't know if anyone else remembers or not but it looked like at least 2 got in a bidding war and I couldn't believe it.

It's not nearly as bad as the de world... someone bought a 1-5 toggle set off of me for $5000 once. This one, up to $750 I could have sold some other nice blades off to offset it and also not make myself feel like a mental patient for paying that for a blade marginally larger than most from its region, but once you romp over 900, the pile of stuff you have to sell just confirms you are one..

I can't fault that seller... Started it at 100 and we're exceedingly open and were chilled out about letting you send it back if it were not right... I don't think this is as mental as that boxed pike coticule selling for what it did a couple of weeks ago

Nah...just kidding. I love the big blades but that's just way way ridiculous. A little less that one months rent in Jersey City...2 whole houses in Texas though...LMAO. I need to move.

On your phone ? Looks to be the exact blade from the auction. 92 bids. Guy with 567 feedbacks pushed it a lot of the way, but 131 feedbacks came in at the bitter end. Seller from Vermont apparently.

I know nothing about shaving or honing but doesn't that hone wear look exceedingly excessive? Or is that considered reasonable for that size blade. You guys have such good eyes. I would love another 10/8's though

Nah... it actually looks very consistent in the bevel department as well. It is a fantastic blade, but at that price, once I pay Glen or mark to sort it out it would be well over a thousand and that's stupid

You can't judge hone wear on wedges quite the same as hollows. If that were in a state where the bevel and spine were awfully wide, it would be regrind territory
