Wow, that is pretty insane. Altima has a really good rep on ebay, and for some reason Goldedges are highly sought after. I'm guessing it was a bidding war.

simple
6***6(31) and d***h(0)
both wanted it and thought sniping at $1000 will get it. they went in a bit of a bidding war.
and I would not be surprised if d***h( 0 ) thought that it if goes for too much they'll just not pay and abandon the account.
it's a nice razor, rare in this condition

To altima55 ......
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Thanked: 60me too, i left it at 2mins to go and went to pay for a razor i owed money for and the bidding was at $182.
when i came back knowing the bidding was already done, i saw that it was over $1000 , holy cow .. what just happened!!
now i do know that altima does provide really good razor and they are shave ready when it gets to you but he seems to have a whole lot of those near never touched razor for some reason.
i'm about to go out to a guy that replates silver and steel so i'm gonna take one of my bokers that is beyond repair to act as a guinea pig to see if these razor can really get gold replated.
coz i do think that a lot of these goldedges are touched up with replating and then also the blue is repainted by hand back into it's new condition.
plus anyone notice the bidding , between 6**6 and some other dude that has NO pos feedbacks?
does that seem odd to you that a guy would bid $1000 on his very first purchase?? looks ands smells fishy to me

Nice looking razor. It's nice to see where the gold wash dividing line ends then on an original factory wash.
I don't own a Goldedge. For those who do...........is that an original factory pin job on the pivot pin? I know Altima55 has said that he frequently repins razors during restoration.
IF I was going to spend $1k on a razor (I never would) thinking it was literally 100% unaltered, unrestored original condition (I'm not implying this one for auction isn't) and I found out it was re-pinned, I think I'd get sick in my lap then RAPIDLY ask for a full refund.
Can anyone give their educated opinion on whether or not that razor was re-pinned?
