Thread: Fillys Just About Out of Reach

I managed to get in contact with the two folks who are apparently sitting on a pile of NOS Fillys in Spain and Argentina. It seems they'll sell you one directly if you ask - and for a less than what they'd been going on Ebay before last week's insanity. I have more Fillys inbound! There's also a very nice one sitting in Japan I know of as well. Disregard all my above posts in this thread! :-)

OK gents, while I can appreciate the desire to get some good Fillys, I'm starting to get PMs asking who to contact and what price to offer for Fillys that those sellers may accept in a private transaction. Sorry guys, I worked out a deal individually and the seller may not be comfortable with folks knowing what price is acceptable to them for private sales. I just don't want to put my arrangement at risk so please don't PM me about it. I'm sure you can appreciate my concern. I have to protect what I negotiated!

Thanked: 293I got mine "behind eBay's back" so to speak. If you see one you like, I'd advise (against eBay's policy), to contact the seller directly and ask if they'll sell one. I got mine from Argentina, so you can probably deduct the user by browsing eBay.
I won't say what I paid, but it was considerably shorter than they're going for now, so I'd say go for it if you want one bad enough.

****e and onions, I hope this doesn't start an off-ebay bidding war on whatever's left of their stock. I got mine at a good price a while ago off the books, never mind trying to get one now. they're going to be flooded!

maybe someone should ask them to sell their Fillys through our vendor section.

What did you think was going to happen?
If your "arrangement" involves ongoing resale on SRP you need to take it over to the Vendor area. What won't work is for you to use a thread (ie this thread) to build interest and then start selling. If that is your plan, proceed carefully.Last edited by Bill S; 09-10-2009 at 06:27 PM.

Thanked: 25Filly....
I've compared the Filarmonicas and Palmera's of the same size and they are very comparable. Steel responds the same (barbas duras) to the hones, similar weight etc.
Considering the Filarmonica boner going on right now, the palmera is where it's at IMO. The only nod I gave to the filly was the handle was more attractive to my eyes. But other than that, I think the prices for the Filly's are are unreasonably high. It isn't commensurate with a quality difference between it and the Palmera thats for sure. Unless that little rubber thing is worth $100
