Fillies Gone Wild
Holy crap, if you want to see some eye-popping prices, check out these two auction results -- 160390934948 and 160390941707. A Filly #13 Medalio Taurino for $430!! A Filly #14 EPBD for $506!!!! My god, that is a lot for one razor, even a nice Filly.
Now, I should say that this is an excellent seller -- tanowa from Brazil, and I've also bought from him in the past. His razors are absolutely new, never honed, original packaging, all of that. Lately, A normal #13 usually goes for $200 to $240 and a #14 goes for $300 to $350.
So what the heck is up with these two auctions. I mean, I could even understand one of them being out of whack, but both of them? Any insight would be appreciated.

Tanowa, my apologies!! I didn't realize it, since just about everyone else in the SR world is a guy, but now that I've found a girl with a huge collection of awesome razors, I have to ask -- will you marry me?!

I don't know, but there's something weird about these two razors both going through the roof at the same time, and I was hoping that someone here had better insight into this.
If you look at the bidding, it's pretty clear that several of the same people were bidding on both razors, and both of them went crazy just today.
Obviously, this is no problem for Tanowa, who is a very reputable seller, and it makes my Filly purchases (at much lower prices) look somewhat smart. But still, wow, that is a LOT of coin for those razors, as nice as they are.
(Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but hasn't Tanowa offered one #13 and one #14 just about every single week now for the past two months? Which would mean that there's more coming next week, or could these be the last two NOS Fillies she has? If so, I'd expect her to say so in the auction listing to drive the price up, but no mention of that at all!)

makes me wish I'd picked up two fillys when they were going for $200. could have sold one now and paid for the both of em. Wish my forsight was as accurate as my hindsight, but I bet most feel the same.

I'm just glad I got mine when they were in the $150 to $200 price range. FWIW, they are really good full hollows but no better than most of the many full hollow Solingens you can pick up for much less. Referring to vintage razors from the same time period. I think that people talking up a brand on forums like ours give some folks the impression that one razor or another is way better than it actually is. The Chronik syndrome and the next thing you know they are "hot items." BTW, if anyone has a Chronik for sale shoot me a PM.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

For me they are worth the price as I find them personally better then any of the razors I own. And I have plenty. They just shave me extremely well and for some reason my skin loves them. This doesn't mean they are the best razors out there. We each have to find our own nirvana. However I'm glad I did get them at still an affordable price range.
If you're patient and watch e-bay some get sold at much less as the premiums I have seen them go for.
