Thats exactly what puts me off Filli's. I'd love to get one, but I'm just not prepared to spend that sort of money on one. Thats well up into custom razor territory there, and you can get Livi regrinds for less than that.

The problem is that Filli's have been getting good write ups recently, so the prices have just rocketed.

The prices will come back down again once the next big thing is uncovered. Someone just has to start a good review so I can afford a Filli....! Hehe!

Hey guys, did you hear that Zeepk razors give an unparallelled shave? Even better than the fabled Chr*nik? ;-)

I am glad I have my unfair share of Fillies (7 in all, some NOS). They are great shavers: easy to sharpen, keeping an edge and smooth on the face) however many more blades have such qualities. IME Filly steel resembles the Swedish steel of any vintage Swedish brand, e.g. Heljestrand en E.A.B.

What makes a Livi regrind better than a Fili? It's just somebody else's blanks or wedges, fixed up by Livi. I'll take a Filly there.

The Mastro custom forgings go up over $600 bucks and we haven't seen any Filly's do that yet

EDIT: I'm sure somebody will be along to crucify me for this post soon.

I'm not sure how the EPBD's are forged, but "Doble Temple", translated is double tempered. I can't really tell the difference between the two, aside from the fact that my DT is a 13 (7/8) and my EPBD is a 14 (15/16 - 8/8).

Did you guys see how fast the Livi Nos went on SRD? You were lucky to get one.
I got one the last time they sold them, and one this time, excellent shavers....
I love my fily's too, but the Livi's are also good.....

GASP, here's another one gone wild:

    NOS Filly #14 EPBD just sold for . . . brace yourself . . . . $515

I mean, I really like my two, and I'm happy I got them when I did, but can a production razor -- even a really nice one -- really sell for MORE than a new custom Williams or Chandler and almost the price of a Livi?! I guess so.
