    It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.

    If I'm not mistaken , those scales are dyed horn , not celluloid . Congrats !

    Thank you for the note. Im not sure what dyed horn is, but I will check it out!

    The horn was dyed to imitate tortise shell .

    Looks like you got it, as the auction is now ened at the opening bid.
    Seems like a good razor to me - the blade is in good shape without hone wear and I think it's not reground either.
    The scales are horn, dyed to look like tortoise as it was fashionable back then. Basically the uncolored horn is the tan part, and the dye is the brown blotches. Celluloid looks different even oh photographs (ant turtle shell as well)

    Thank you. It is good to hear that it isnt a bad purchase. We will see when I get it how great of condition it really is.
