Thread: Looking for a bigger blade... thoughts on this?

    So, did you get it? That is a nice looking razor, and the blade looks to be in good shape. Should be a nice shaver once the bevel is properly set and it is honed.

    Yes sir. I was the one and only bidder surprisingly. I was waiting for someone to come in and bid at the last second. It looks in pretty good condition from the pictures so we shall see. Thanks!

    So the J. Wostenholm was supposed to arrive today, but the tracking says "missent". I didnt have any mail, and i dont think i will get any today so hopefully it will show tomorrow.

    Hard to tell from a photo but razors of that vintage are commonly dyed horn made to resemble tortoise shell. That would be my bet.

    There certainly is a different smell if you sand it. Celluloid = camphor & horn = wet dog
