I guess selling razors you restored is subjective to the person making the sale in general. If you cruise the bay it's rather easy to spot out the guys who bought a crap blade for little money made it look decent, tossed some half assed scales on it and put a Bin for $350. OTOH I like many restore mainly my own blades, but have done a few restorations for others as well. For me I keep it to bartering or if I do accept money it would be kept in the hobby so I can Buy myself a new razor, some scaling material or a new tool to help my progression. IMO eBay is like a retailer where everyone selling is looking for top dollar where as the classified are more like a neighborhood lawn sale; sure the seller on classifieds want money for their piece, but your more likely to see "friend prices" there which I think is nice. I agree with Bruno on this one- selling a restored straight razor you will rarely get back all you put in, but isn't that true with most all hobbies? Buy a model airplane for $1,500, put it together, paint it, test it, clean it up and sell it. At the end of the day the $1500 airplane is worth $1600 to a buyer.. You spent 40 hours assembling 5 hours painting plus the cost of materials to increase the value $100? You tell me it's not a labor of love!

Thanked: 247Facts: You used a buffer for the first time about one month ago, and had some problems with the sisal wheel. You bought your Ryobi bandsaw about three weeks ago. Yesterday, you wanted to know if all your hard work would be appreciated by people on the forum in the form of cash money..and preferably more profitable than Ebay.
I'm sure you're a fine fellow. But those are the facts. I'm fairly sure I didn't misconstrue anything.
