I have too many favorites. The most special razor I have is the F W Engels Perfection...around $300 plus. My first great find in an antique/junk store, a 15/16 NOS Bartmann. I talked the dealer down from $150 to $120. Perfect factory edge. I found an excellent razor in a Danville, VA antique mall, a Carl Schmidt Blue Steel, $30.

I almost forgot. I prefer larger razors, but bought a C V Heljestrand MK31 ivory scales for $110. Wonderful blade.

Ah, I see. I just looked back and see that I misremembered about the price for the MK 33. It was (with shipping), $233. It was in excellent condition, and I was happy with the deal. I misremembered the price because I was confusing it with an MK 22 wedge that cost much less. The MK 22 is a wonderful razor also.

With respect to my own collection, I have a new winner for the category "what is the most you ever paid for a razor?" I grow faint at the thought of having spent $425 (with shipping) for a razor. But this is the one razor I have most wanted. So, I breathed deeply, held my breath, cleared my mind, leaving it vacant of consciousness and guilt for the one necessary split second, and clicked "Buy Now."

Wade and Butcher 8/8ths For Barber's Use all original, never unpinned, minimal hone wear.

One can pay a lot more for customs. I don't anticipate doing that any time soon. It will take me a while to recover from the shock and dismay of having spent this much on a razor. But I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

$6 for a Robeson 6/8 Square point with bone pick scales, takes a nice edge and keeps it

I have 30-ish razors, and have yet to pay 100 for any razor. They are all vintage, and i have TOO MANY faves!

But a couple three of them...I wouldn't sell for $200 each.
