lol! Sorry, dumb joke I know.

If I were to wade into the brush debate (which I am loathe to do as I think both sides have presented a pretty comprehensive summary of the pros and cons), I'd just say that it is again one of those personal preference things.

If you read around the forum you'll see there is a general favouring of badger. However I'm not completely certain that is based on experience in all cases - another thing you'll notice if you read around the forum is that certain things follow a "fashion" as people discover new stuff (eg Jnat hones, kangaroo strops, certain creams and soaps, and certainly razor brands).

Bottom line is a good quality brush is a good thing - badger or boar. Yes, each exhibit their own unique traits, but in the end it is an implement for imparting lather onto a face (and raising the whiskers, stimulating the blood flow, etc etc) and what is best for, or preferred by, one person may not be what is best for, or preferred by, another.

Anyway, as someone who spent at least 20 years just rubbing lather onto their face with their hands I can say without a shadow of a doubt I prefer using a brush!

Actually one of my all-time favorites is a boar (Omega 11126-middle row, far right). Had it for many years. Cost about $25.

Most expensive brush up there is a Rudy Vey Custom Silvertip (olivewood handle, bottom row, 3rd from right-somewhere around $100). Great brush, but not in the top three.

The Muhle and Omega Synthetics on the top row are exceptionally fine brushes, not too spendy either.
Since you obviously have some brushes, what is your suggestion for a holder? Should I get a brush/SR holder? I'm loathe to just have him set the brush down on the counter..

OK! I have a SR and brush, just working on the scuttle/mug/bowl/whateverthehell, shaving cream, and brush/razor holder.

Should I post what kind of brush and SR I got? Wait? I suppose anyone can PM me and ask.

There is another quality vendor who for whatever the reason always seems to have a substantial inventory, even right now. I have dealt with this outfit on many occasions and can vouch for them. They are in the same league as SRD. I am not sure it is within forum criteria to post their name here, but if you send me a PM I can give you the necessary information.

They have in stock right now a healthy selection of Bokers (which are right up there with Ralf Aust as one of the best production razors made today), Dovo, and a custom maker from Carthage, MO, Bell & Hat (which look really nice..I have no first hand experience with B&H, maybe someone on the forum does). They sure do look pretty good here Bell & Hat

Lots of brushes and other stuff too.....
B&H stuff looks SUPER cool. Still working on figuring out how to actually make a purchase?

On that particular site there are usually 2 add to cart buttons per item, one with a USA only price and one with international (since the prices include shipping). In any case you can always e-mail the proprietor, Jarrod, who's very helpful and informative.
