Great Christmas! My best gift was spending time with my kids and being able to watch my grand kids open all there gifts; and spending a great Christmas with my Mom who just turned 88 years old on the 18th. We never know, any of us, how long we have on this earth so it was very special for me to have one more Christmas with my Mom, and celebrating the very same family Christmas in the same house for the last 60 years.
I also bought a 'new' vintage, almost perfect condition, Cordovan Shell Hibbard Spencer & Bartlett OVB Razor Strop. I Love It!

I'm not generally a holiday event participant. A little money to each of six grandkids (they like to buy what they want). But this year I suddenly became very self centered when I saw, on eBay, what became my combination Holiday/upcoming Birthday present to myself - a Lishaw Microtome Strop w/cover, in damn good shape (well maybe I'll have to have Neil make a couple of new ones). Auction ending at 7:19 AM Christmas morning and I was the only bidder.
My son next door to me is the opposite of me. His birthday is before Christmas and he is of like ilk about the holidays. But, at local antique store I found a set of unused radius guides in perfect condition and since he is a wood/metal/welder/whatever worker couldn't resist. Given between b'day and Christmas, was highly enjoyed by him. Then he surprised me and handed me a bulky package that turned out to be 100 Gel pens, every imaginable color, some with sparkles mixed in the gel. I am a fabric artist and painter and he, too, hit the nail on the head.
As an aside, for those into oddities, he and I each have birthdays the same as two well named singers of the past."The sharpening stones from time to time provide officers with gasoline."

Nice haul.
I have a couple of those Muhle stainless bowls. FWIW - They make for a fantastic "makeshift scuttle." They fit perfectly over most coffee cups. Almost fill a coffee cup with warm/hot water, place the bowl on top - hot suds for your entire shave. The stainless transfers the warmth perfectly.
Seriously, it works better than my "real" scuttle.
Looks great - give us a review when you have time. It almost sounds medicinal lol.David

Glen, put a camera on that drone and you'll be able to spy on everyone's honing and then make cryptic comments on the forum about what you know about them that they don't realize. Great gift!
