Thanked: 0Can straight razor shaving impress my friends?
We all know that disposable Mach and Gillette razors are and have been the common form of shaving for so many years. Just imagine that I'm on a trip with my buds and we are taking turns grooming, shaving and getting dressed for some night life. They're shaving with they're typical disposables, then I whip out my striaght razor and go to town right in front of them. Would that WOW them and make them think: "Holy Sh!t dude! You actually know how to use one of those?? That's so badass!" I'm not gonna lie, this is part of the reason why I decided to learn straight razor shaving. lol.

More than likely, our buds will wanna grab the razor from you, put you in a choke hold and make some corny movie reference about cutting your throat.
No, really they'll think your badass.
Mine were , oh you shave with one of those? How many times did you cut yourself?

Thanked: 375Either that or they'll be a little upset that your taking so long because they're ready to party. So I think you have a 50/50 chance that you will either be a badass or the guy who takes a little to long to get ready to go out on the town.

In my experience, it's impossible to impress a true friend. They are always predisposed to think you're a putz.

I choose not to discuss my personal grooming habits with friends, they'll just think you're weird and who wants to know that type of thing about someone else anyways, but I have no problem discussing them with strangers on the Internet. In reality though, I mentioned it to a few buds when I started straight shaving and I got the blank stares and how often do I cut myself questions. Even if your buddies think you're weird for using a straight, rest assured you are among friends here.
Why doesn't the taco truck drive around the neighborhood selling tacos & margaritas???

Thanked: 4826Well from my point of view it is simply my choice of grooming. I find it no more badass than using a comb over a brush. Seriously it's just shaving, the gold standard for over a hundred years but still it is just shaving. The very best that shaving can be, but it is still just shaving.

Perhaps this thread might help. In answer to your original question from my point of view I really doubt it.Bread and water can so easily become tea and toast
