Just call or email Jarrod at TSS. He is a great guy to deal with and I am sure that he will make it right. That razor from him is shave ready as well. TSS puts a great edge on their razors before they ship. Sorry that you received a damaged razor.
    Have a great day!

Do you guys think a dovo 6/8 best quality is worth rescaling? Is the blade the same quality and such as the higher end models or should I just buy another 6/8 razor and request a refund? I bought it because I couldn't find another 6/8 carbon full hollow with classic scales online with the same tip and minimal gold wash. Thanks again guys.

Jarod from TSS is a great guy, I'm certain he will assist you. His razors come shave ready anyway. Reach out to him and send him your oder SR, he will hone it for you too.
    Cheers!

Speak to the vendor. Might find they can rescale if you ate worried about the scales if a replacement. Have dealt with Jarrad before so sure he will do all he can to help you out.

Razors are sent all around the world all the time. Cross country for a hone poses no issues as long as packaged properly. As said Maxamillion is a razor maker among other things so sure that he could help with anything you need.

Ponypox. First the Dovo you purchased is a very good SR. Everyone here is willing to help but you need to hear us. Contact the vendor first. A couple members who have posted here are familiar with him and are very sure he will deal with the issue to your satisfaction. Also agree with the suggestion of sending your other SR along with the Dovo return. He can then solve the cracked scale problem and hone your other SR at the same time. Also update this thread by letting us know how you make out with the vendor.

I'm just worried about the dry high heat from Vegas and the humidity where I send it to. Also I don't have razor oil to coat it. Am I justified in my worries?
    Short answer no

I'm sorry if it sounded like I'm ignoring the great advice here. I definitely was not and plan to contact the vendor. I only asked the other questions out of curiosity. Thank you everyone again and I will post what happens.

Hi guys. I contacted the vendor and got a reply back. It took me a day to process it as the reply is rather thorough and requires a good read. In short, the email convinced me that I had to have opened the razor too much (More than 240 degrees) because the only other way it would crack is improper stropping or such. He said they check every razor and especially this model when they sell it. He also says he sells scales on the website but if memory serves me correctly, it is not the scale size I need. Anyways, if I read the portion of the email correctly, he says he doesn't reccomend asking him to put the scales together for me as it might not turn out as well as I would like and says it is easy enough for me to give it a go. The problem is that I don't have experience with that and would not like to try it myself. Skipping to the end of the email, I believe he says that I can request a refund if I insist. It seems strange but rereading the email a few times makes me feel sort of bad for wanting to ask for one. It seems like my options now are to return it or look for someone to replace the scales for me. I will have to think about it.

I don't see that opening the razor 'too much' would cause scales to crack. These razors (Dovo) are made in their hundreds and thousands - send the razor back and ask for a refund or replacement. It's the retailer's issue not yours.

Alternatively, as the retailer does not appear to offer a re-scaling service, tell him you will get it done by Max in LA but he (the retailer) will need to pick up the bill. You can also get Max to make sure it's shave ready at the same time.
My service is good, fast and cheap. Select any two and discount the third.
