Thanked: 580Maximilian is in Vegas, contact him via PM and get him to hone your Dovo Forestal. Over the life time of a razor it will be opened and closed several thousand times and should be able to withstand that, so that is BS.
If you are not prepared to send it back, just try shaving with it and look at getting it re scaled further down the track. Best of luck.Into this house we're born, into this world we're thrown ~ Jim Morrison

Thanked: 0I would just like to clarify that when he said "opened too much", he said that I must have opened the scales more than 240 degrees. Also, one of the fractures extends from the pivot to the outside of the scales so it would be too dangerous to use. It looks like there is a good chance of the scales cracking off if I were to use it.

I have razors that are older than any of us and they can be folded past that point and do so I can shave some areas. If that causes the scales to crack then they are faulty from factory full stop. Either the scales or the pinning was the issue not how far you opened it unless done completely the wrong way with force used

Thanked: 4827I would add a drop of CA to the crack if you are worried about it and would like to use it before you get them replaced. I have never cracked a set of scales by opening and closing them, I have however cracked a few trying to snug up the pin.

Thanked: 0To anyone interested in an update, I sent gssixgun an email about rescaling yesterday and I'm waiting for a response. The vendor said I should ask someone other than himself to rescale it. If it gets pricey, I might just return the razor to the vendor and consider looking for another razor if there is a quality difference.

Thanked: 0To anyone who has a 6/8 full hollow dovo best quality: Do you still use the razor and do you think it's heavier than other razors it's size since I might want heavier scales than the cheap plastic. It seems blade heavy.
