Sounds like you made a good choice to put a straight in your hand, just like most of us here,we perk our coffee, shoot an english yew longbow, shoot a 45 cal curly maple flinter, throw knives and tomahawks, make fire with flint and steel,am also a fur trapper, love ice fishing, smelting in Maine, and trolling flys with leadcore line for salmon, lakers, rainbows and browns,BUT i have not tried the bamboo, its on my list. So shaving with a straight just fits in with us backwards folks, My wife tells me i was born 100 years too soon !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But I have some razors that just wont hone. Whats up with that? I'm currently researching how to hone out a frown.
Well stated, although I would replace the Single Malt Scotch with a with a shot of Jack Daniels Black Label!!

I build real steam trains in my home machine shop that run on coal and water and smoke a real pipe (Dunhill). I like to be off-the-grid to wind down. I also keep going backwards in technology at home, even though I teach high school computers. I like classic drinks: Rob Roy, Sidecar, Manhattan, and yes...Martinis. (A martini is always with GIN!!!!!)

Welcome to the classic way of doing things. You are very sane.
