Is there something wrong with me?
Seriously?! I'm only 41, so I think I'm too young for "The Old Coots Club." However, I seem to be going backward in technology. I prefer my music be played on vinyl. I hunt with a muzzleloader. I prefer to fish with a bamboo fly rod. Now, I just bought a straight razor.
I just bought a Dovo "Prima Klang" with a 3" strop from SRD. I know with Christmas presents flying around, it will take a few days to get here. Yet, I'm "kid at Christmas" excited to get it.
Should I seek professional help?

Yes, there is something wrong with you.
As a matter of fact theres something wrong with all of us. Who in their right mind would think of scrapping their face with a sharp piece of steel?
Actually, I think we're all normal and its everyone else that has the problem. You have found a band of brothers here at SRP. Haven't tried a bamboo rod, but sounds like fun. You will probably find someone here who is into each of the activities you listed.
Welcome to SRP

Yes, but it won't help.

If you like fly fishing at all, you need to try a handcrafted bamboo rod. You need to slow down your cast a bit, but once you get the timing, you will never want to cast a plastic rod again. Not only are they beautiful rods (natural materials), they are more sensitive and flex better in response to fish (fewer break-offs).
I'm trying to resist the urge to pontificate about bamboo. Just try one. You will enjoy casting "the lovely reed."

Welcome to SRP! You'll find many of us here like the same things. I love Vinyl, I can get it to sound better than any cd...I think you'll enjoy using a straight razor. The whole process is just awesome. There's something really satisfying when you shave with a blade that you sharpened yourself. That, and all the wonderful shave creams and soaps...
Enjoy yourself and let us know if you need any help...

Thanked: 3Hello Something wrong with me
Hello,
What Kind of Bamboo flyrod do you fish with? I went to a Bamboo flyrod building school and built my own. It was great fun and it's a thing of beauty. 5 weight, casts nice. I hunt with Archery, Muzzleloader and Rifle. I shave with a straight Razor cut my own fire wood to heat the house, I like Beer, Single Malt Scotch, and a Gin Martini and I love women.
But I have some razors that just wont hone. Whats up with that? I'm currently researching how to hone out a frown.
