You think you guys have it strange, I'm 27 and I'm doing all those things. Shaving with a straight razor, enjoy gin and tonics and I even listen to 8 tracks if I can get my hands on them... Those things are indestructible. I still work on military helicopters that came out for the Vietnam war, and still fly. I must have problems too

Thanked: 993Don't get me wrong, I love Gin martini's, especially when made with Sapphire, but...I also really really love that ice cold gin in a rocks glass, about two fingers, one icecube, and a squeeze of fresh lime. I use that time to smoke a cuban cigar, usually a montecristo, punch, or Cohiba. While drinking and smoking, I'm usually contemplating something to do with straight razors. The irony as I type this is that I also prefer to talk to people (no offence to all of us on these forums) face to face. This whole 24 hr social networking thing just doesnt appeal to me....I can't smoke a cigar with someone on facebook.

Welcome to SRP
Old adage:
"There are two kinds of fools. One says, 'It is old, therefore it is good.' The other says, 'It is new, therefore it is good.'"
I guess I am an old fool. You may be, too. Damn fun, ain't it?!
Seriously, I never really had a problem getting a good shave with a cartridge. I've certainly cut myself with a DE & a straight. But, I'm enjoying my shaves for the first time in my life. The prep, the slow pace, the learning curve on shaving, stropping and honing -- all add to the experience. I wish you the same and more.
Maybe I should try fly-fishing. Nah, somethings are just too damn hard!

DBC,
I currently fish with my Grandpa's old "Water Rifle". It is a 7# Japanese production rod. It’s really ok, but fun. Right now I have a Dickerson 8014 blank waiting to be turned into a rod. As soon as my 2 yr. old and wife let me have some time.
What school did you go to? Are you going to build more?
Beer, Scotch, hunting: you seem like a good guy.

Bigspedur,
Does it count that I am a member of the Possum Lodge (from "Red Green")?

+1 for Possum Lodge... "If the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy." Great show that I wish was still on here.
+1 for fly fishing... grass is nice... so is glass... and the "new" graphite stuff too.
+1 for joining a great bunch of guys.
Welcome, and I hope you enjoy it here and learn to your hearts delight. I just joined a couple months ago and these fine folks made me feel like a regular immediately.
