A Robert Williams custom would be the one I would keep if I had to give the rest up. What a scary thought. I'd like to use the old "eek" emoticon but it is gone and the new one sux.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Surprising results. A lot can be said for honing, but if I had to choose, A Puma Gold (any vintage Puma really) A DD Wonderedge, and Filarmonica. Everytime I use one of these blades, it's just a great close comfortable shave, everytime....I have Customs, they shave and look great, but I'm a sucker for vintage razors....

My Droescher Black Smith tops my other (few) razors, I'm excited for the day that I find one that shaves better!

I don't know about a best, but I think the most coveted would probably be my Mappin Lancet Edge. Or maybe my DePews that Max restored. Or maybe my 9/8 GB/Anchor. Or... or...

In short, my keepers are what I found to be the most interesting/unique/beautiful razors that I have had come through my hands in the 3 years I've been into straight razors. Well, minus the first few months, during which I let some go that I wish I could get back.

Oh that's easy.... Any of my three Japanese "slogen" 75 razors, my 8/8 friodur inox with worked back, my puma, hopefully my new filiomica 13 (gonna shave with it tomorrow). Hmmm the Baxter by hartsteel would have to join the mix as would the smiling L Herder and sons rescaled by philadelphia, the Rex 8.... If I was going to include those the 7/8 wade and butcher rescaled by Glenn would be in along with my first razor 5/8 TI and my Joseph Rogers and sons "the rodgers" hmm out of only 24 razors that's a lot of favorites well the first four in my list are my favorite "favorites" .... See I told you it's easy ;-)

    Lets see.....

    My Wacker 7/8 Finest Hollow....definitely.
    Tuckmar 5/8 silver steel
    Friodur Inox 70 1/2, 5/8

These three consistently deliver the most incredible shaves. There are others that are "up there", but there's something about these three that just make the morning fantastic.

Oh man....I'm just thinking about the INOX right now.....it's on tomorrows list.

I've only been using these sharp things for 4 months now, but have nearly a dozen blades now. No BEST yet, but all have taught me something. I am having fun trying to choose a different razor each day to shave with. One cost $40, but the rest have come in under $25. A few Torreys, Bokers, Genco, Puritan, etc... Nothing really special yet. Maybe my favorite is the next one I purchase... Guess I'll keep looking.
