    Hi,

I haven't been on much since I'm in college, but I'd like to put my name in for this.

My dad's a member of this forum and I've tried one of his razors, so one of my own would be great.

    Thanks,

    Patrick Buesing

    Hi Pat,
You've been added. There's time for some more takers as I'm waiting for another razor to come in before taking the new arrivals to the hones.

How cool!! This is THE best and kind forums that I've ever read. I'll like to be put on your list too. I'm a newbie of course and don't have a razor yet. So many bids on Ebay only to have lost out on the last minute (more like last few seconds).

Just purchased a strop and paddle from Tony, so looking foward to doing my first straight razor shave.

    Thanks,
    kelly

I think we've all been sniped a time or two, then again, I cant really say that I've never grabbed an auction with mere seconds remaining either

Kelly, you've been added. Having a paddle strop is good as the blade is coming off the coticule and nothing else. If you win, a few passes on the 0.5 and even 0.25 (if you want to be really anal about it) will make your shaves even better. However try shaving with it first. I've been getting very close and comfortable shaves without resorting to pastes. You can always use the paddle to refresh the edge every 10-15 shaves.

Cool, thanks for the entry and thanks for the info. I just ordered a haning strop and also a four sided paddle strop from Tony with .25, .5, 1 and 3 micron pastes. I can't wait until I receive the package. You guys weren't kidding when you talked about Tony's great customer service skills!! Extremely prompt emails, very helpful by phone and all his helpful postings here.

Kelly I'm sure Rich will be able to offer you lots of pointers on using paddle strops. Dave, I'm adding you to the giveaway.

Announcement: Even though I received the Hamburg Ring today (a bit of pitting, nothing serious, overall good shape), the signup will be open until 5pm on Sunday. At some point I will use a random number generator to draw the winner.
