I'm just a lazy bum. I'll go to http://www.random.org/nform.html, specify a range (1-6 if we have 6 entries) and ask for only one value. Sure beats writing on small pieces of paper, putting them in a hat, taking one out and then disposing of all of them.

Thanked: 1That's not lazy, it's - efficient

Could be both.. It has long been my belief that if you want to make a process efficient, just assign the laziest bum ever to do it. Once you see him start reading papers and instant-messaging, see how he trimmed the fat, train other people to do it that way and assign him to another task.

Hamburg Ring
The Hamburg Ring arrived and I gave it a bit of a cleaning. Here it is:
I decided to offer it as a CHOICE to the winner. So it's either or. The one that doesn't get chosen becomes my travel razor. Here's some more info:
-The blade has a few more marks than the Sprock, but nothing critical.
-It's larger (6/8) and a stiffer grind. Better for heavy growth
-There is a (very small) bit more hone wear than on the Sprock, but Sprock has virtually none.
-After winning the draw, the winner will have 2 days to decide.
-I hope 2 days will be enough as it's a tough choice. Both should turn into very nice shavers.

Less than a day until the end of the draw. If you want in, you better hurry up!

So what did the ramdom number generator say?

It said #4. So you will have a measuring stick for your own honing. Now all you have to do is choose which one you want. For that you have until Tuesday evening around this time. Until then you can ask any questions or if you need additional photos, it's not much trouble for me. Congrats Dave!

I LOVE the number 4!
Yes I have questions. The usual. Pros/cons of each. Which is easy to hone/sharpen. Which one is shiniest. Pictures... sure I'll look at more.
If others have opinions I welcome them too.
This is great!
Thanks a ton.

I am just happy I had a good candidate pool for this giveaway. I just wish I had more razors to spare.
The pic of the Hamburg Ring is bad, it looks nicer irl, but Sprock is still shinier. However HR still has a visible logo..
In general, Sprock would be easier to sharpen but keeping them sharp is practically the same. Since I am doing the initial honing, it's a non-issue to you.
Sprock is optimal for light-medium growth, while Hamburg Ring would tackle on tougher stubble (medium-heavy) as it's 30-40% bigger and has a stiffer grind. Sprock will give you a slightly closer shave, but it is more likely to get snagged in the tougher stubble.
Even though the Hamburg Ring cost me a bit more, Sprock seems to be better quality but I'm not sure about the quality of the steel yet. They both have a good reputation.
I'll take additional pics tomorrow when the lighting becomes better.
Time to get some very late lunch lol.
