I use the Clubman liquid one with the felt if needed. I'm more a fan of the alum block though. It closes 99% of my nicks and makes the skin taut.

Thanked: 220I always have one nearby, in fact it's an oversized model, it's huge. I don't use it too often anymore but when you need it, you need it!

In my first month using a straight razor every day, I've had 2 nicks that a cold water splash and an alum block wouldn't stop. That should be my worst month ever, right? Honestly I've found with most aquired skills that the second month is the worst, because you're not really very good yet, but starting to get cocky about it.

I was thinking, if we ran this poll with the same participants, say a year from now how the numbers would look so skewed...
Just a Random thought that I wanted to share.

Thanked: 1587I have one, but haven't needed it much in recent times, happily. It's good to have in case there's a bleeder that just won't stop, and the pain feels like penance.

Thanked: 1I have a styptic pencil and powder but very rarely use them I have one pencil at home and one in my bathroom bag for when I travel, just incase I need it.
I use an Alum block not to heal cuts because I very rarely get cut but I find if I rub it on and wash it off after a few min it leaves my face feeling and looking better ( I need all the help I can get )
