I have done my first wet shave last night with a straight razor and is amazed at the ease of use and comfort. Not the best shave but i know there is room for improvement. I am situated in Centurion. Would like to know and share info with regards to straight razors in south africa.

welcome, good see another fello from SA. what razors do you have? Where did you buy your stuff? post some photos of your stuff if you want. Sharpness of the blade and good shaving cream can make a big difference.

The strop is 40 x 5 cm. my first shave was quiet a rough cut and lots of beard still left but i sorted it all out with a normal shave. Will shave with straight until i get all the hairs and know all.

You should get honing stones, could be that the razor is not 100% sharp.

locally....no where, i look everywhere and found nothing, only place is in the USA to import. Best stone to get is the Norton whetstones. if you play around on the forum you will get alot of post and tips on honing and what stones to use. Only problem with us SA boys is that we are going to pay R2000+ for these stones.
