You know the old saying, I went to look for a job but they say I need experience but how do I get experience if I can't get a job?
That's the way it is with brushes. You don't know what you like until you have tried it but how can you try without buying? I would say get something in badger middle of the road and not too expensive and then you can go forwards or back depending on your experience.
Just about any brush will make lather. it's about the ergonomics and the feel on your face really. No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

I have been looking at Omega Professional boar brushes or maybe Vulfix Pure Grey Badger brush heck the price is right for both that I just get one of each.

The boar's extra scritch is a nice thing to have when you want to really exfoliate prior to shaving. In time the tips of a boar brush will be nice and soft and still retain a good backbone for those hard soaps. I use boar brushes for both hard soaps and creams and have no problem using a lathering bowl.
