Badger feels much nicer than boar. I will always go with badger brushes from now on. Just my personal preference.

I've got a Semogue on the way as part of a multi item purchase.

What's your impression of the brush?

It's a 1520. I've really got no experience with them.

The loft and knot size are different from my 1350 so really can't say. That is why I was wondering which one you had specifically. I would give it a couple of weeks of daily use to really break in well before coming to any conclusions about it though.

That sounds reasonable. The brush is passing over the border so it will be a while before I see it. Looking forward to using it.

    Thanks!

Y'all just keep using them stiff, dry boar thingies.
For me, a proper brush is made from badger hair!
    I mean really! Boar?

BobH is giving you good advice. Imo Boar hair brushes require a bit longer break-in period than Badger brushes.

I own both badger and boar and even a badger & boar mixture but I like my boar brushes better

My favorite brush is a 1dollar synthetic for a buck why not try it out. My pure badger is my least favorite and my most expensive Silvertip is my second favorite but uses a LOT more soap than the others especially the synthetic which takes by far the least soap as well.
